Lauren Dawson has been in healthcare for over 20 years and completed her training as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) in 2016 from Wilmington University with a specialty in family practice. She is board-certified through the American Association of Nurse Practitioners and went on to earn her Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) from University of Maryland, Baltimore in 2020.
Over the course of her career, Lauren has worked in diverse clinical settings. Early in her nursing career, she served as a registered nurse in a Level I trauma emergency department, gaining extensive experience in acute and critical care. She later transitioned into academia, where she served as a Professor of Nursing for over 10 years, specializing in simulation, women’s health, obstetrics, and medical-surgical nursing. She was honored with the New Nursing Educator of the Year Award in 2018 from the Organization of Associate Degree Nurses and contributed to the publication “A Statewide Curriculum Model for Teaching Simulation Education Leaders” in 2019.
As a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP), Lauren values both traditional medicine and holistic approaches. She combines evidence-based care with a compassionate, patient-centered approach, helping individuals navigate their unique health journeys. She provides care to men, women, and adolescents, with a focus on women’s health, gynecologic care, weight management, and hormone therapy and optimization. She prioritizes strong patient relationships, education, and open communication to ensure each patient feels informed and confident in their care.
Lauren became a BIOTE provider in 2024 after first being a patient for over a year, with additional training from platinum provider Dr. J. Michael Knapp. This advanced training allows her to offer personalized hormone optimization solutions tailored to each patient’s needs. She is passionate about empowering patients to restore their vitality and achieve optimal health through individualized, comprehensive care.
